Post-Avowed: What's Next?

Author : Thomas Update:Apr 15,2025

The expansive world of the Living Lands in *Avowed* may give you a sense of endless adventure, but the main quest of Obsidian's latest RPG is surprisingly concise. If you're eager to dive deeper into the game after the credits roll, here's a guide on what to expect after completing *Avowed*.

Does Avowed Have New Game Plus?

For avid gamers and completionists, the allure of replaying the main quest on a higher difficulty with all the accumulated skills and gear is undeniable, particularly in RPGs. Unfortunately, *Avowed* does not feature a New Game Plus mode at launch. However, there's hope on the horizon; the community's enthusiasm for such a mode has been vocal, and Obsidian might consider adding it through a future update or DLC.

Even without New Game Plus, *Avowed* remains worth revisiting. The game offers a variety of choices that significantly impact both the story and gameplay. Creating a new save file to explore different endings and character builds can provide a fresh and engaging experience.

Does Avowed Have Endgame Content?

*Avowed* is designed around four main regions, with an additional secret finale area and a return to a significant city, which we'll keep under wraps to avoid spoilers. These final areas are challenging and necessitate the use of Legendary Quality Weapons and Gear to thrive.

However, the challenge of the final areas does not extend to the previous regions, and no new areas are unlocked post-credits. It's a bit disappointing that you can't see how your choices have reshaped the Living Lands after completing the game.

What You Can Do After You Beat Avowed

Without a New Game Plus or any endgame content, *Avowed's* post-game offerings might seem sparse. After defeating the final boss, you'll be treated to animatic cutscenes that reflect the consequences of your choices on the world and characters of the Living Lands. Once these scenes conclude, you'll be returned to the Main Menu.

From the Main Menu, you have the option to embark on a new journey with a different Envoy or reload a previous save. Autosaves from just before the point of no return and before the final encounter are available, allowing you to replay these pivotal sections and experiment with different decisions to see varied story outcomes.

Reloading to a point before the final stretch also lets you revisit earlier regions. This is your chance to complete any remaining side quests, collect missed items, and earn achievements. The enemies in these regions won't scale to your level, making it exhilarating to return to places like Dawnshore equipped with your Legendary Quality gear.

And that's what awaits you after you beat *Avowed*.

*Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.*
