Regarding Metaphor: ReFantazio's future, Hashino confirmed there are no immediate plans for a sequel. His focus remains on completing the current project, which he originally conceived as a potential third major JRPG franchise alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, aiming for it to become a flagship title for Atlus.
While a Metaphor: ReFantazio sequel is unlikely to be the studio's next endeavor, an anime adaptation is under consideration. Metaphor: ReFantazio has already achieved significant success for Atlus, boasting a peak concurrent player count exceeding 85,961—surpassing Persona 5 Royal (35,474) and Persona 3 Reload (45,002). The game is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
