Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's long-awaited return in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, over a year after his initial appearance. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its vast roster of over 90 playable characters with limited rerun slots on Event Banners. With a projected average of one new 5-star character per patch, the demand for reruns far surpasses the available banner space.
While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, many players consider it a temporary solution. Shenhe's extended wait time (over 600 days) before her rerun in Version 5.3 underscores this point. Until the introduction of triple banners, extended rerun wait times seem inevitable.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, points to Version 5.4 as his comeback. His playstyle, particularly effective in Burnmelt teams, aligns well with the recent Spiral Abyss buffs, lending some credence to the rumor.
Wriothesley's Potential Return in Version 5.4
It's important to note that Flying Flame's track record isn't flawless. While they accurately predicted the Version 5.3 Chronicled Banner, other leaks proved inaccurate. Therefore, treat this information cautiously.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley share the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star slot may feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun within the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
