If you're diving into the cooperative horror game *R.E.P.O.*, a thrilling physics-based retrieval experience for up to six players, you'll want to ensure your progress is safely saved. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.* to keep your hard-earned achievements intact.
How To Save Your Game in R.E.P.O.
One of the most frustrating experiences in gaming is discovering that your progress hasn't been saved. This can be particularly challenging with new games like *R.E.P.O.*, which does not feature an autosave function until certain conditions are met. Missing the tutorial instructions or unclear guidance can lead to lost progress.
In *R.E.P.O.*, to save your game, you must complete the level you're currently on. There is no manual save option available, so quitting during a retrieval mission or dying (which sends you to the Disposal Arena) will result in the loss of your current save. You’ll have to start the level over from the beginning if you leave or die mid-mission.
To successfully save your game, you need to reach the Extraction Point with your valuables, board the truck, and signal your AI boss, the Taxman, by holding the message button above your head. This action prompts a move to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can shop and prepare for the next level. Use the same button to signal readiness to move on.
Once you leave the Service Station and arrive at your next location, it is safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. The next time you or the host (if another player created the original save file) start the game, you can jump back into *R.E.P.O.* with your progress intact. Remember, if there's a host, they are responsible for exiting at the right time to ensure proper saving. Once the host quits, all other players will be logged out.
