Silent Hill Transmission Sheds Light on Silent Hill f

New Official Reveal Trailer

The Silent Hill Transmission on March 13, 2025, unveiled exciting new details and a trailer for Silent Hill f. Unlike its predecessors set in a fictional American town, this game is set in the heart of 1960s Japan.

The story follows Shimizu Hinako, an ordinary teenager whose life takes a dark turn when her town is enveloped in an eerie fog, transforming into a nightmarish landscape. Hinako must navigate this unfamiliar terrain, solve puzzles, battle bizarre foes, and make crucial decisions to survive. The narrative centers on a "beautiful yet terrifying choice," promising a gripping tale.

Silent Hill f unfolds in the fictional town of Ebisugaoka, inspired by Kanayama in Gero, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The developers meticulously recreated the town, capturing its intricate alleyways through detailed reference materials and real-life recordings to fit the 1960s setting.

Find the Beauty in Terror

Motoi Okamoto, the producer behind the Silent Hill series, emphasized the game's core concept: "find the beauty in terror." While maintaining the psychological horror roots of Silent Hill, the team sought to explore this theme within a Japanese context. Okamoto noted, "Japanese horror often portrays terror within beauty. When something becomes overly beautiful and perfect, it can become unsettling." Players will experience this duality through the eyes of a young girl facing a hauntingly beautiful decision.

Silent Hill f Is A Completely Independent Story

Okamoto confirmed that Silent Hill f stands as an independent narrative, accessible to newcomers yet filled with easter eggs for long-time fans. The game's writer, Ryukishi07, renowned for his psychological horror visual novels, brings his passion for the Silent Hill series to this project. Ryukishi07, who has played every game in the series, views Silent Hill f as both a return to the franchise's origins and a bold new challenge. A key challenge was creating a Silent Hill game outside the iconic town. Ryukishi07 expressed confidence in their creation but eagerly awaits feedback from dedicated fans.

Silent Hill f is now available for wishlisting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though a specific release date remains unannounced. Stay tuned to our articles for the latest updates on Silent Hill f!
