Newman's reaction, shared on a Discord server ("Can you believe the cheek?"), quickly led to a viral controversy. While Newman has stated the issue is resolved, the identity of the party who sent the DMCA remains undisclosed.

The notice targeted user-created content within Garry's Mod, specifically "unauthorized Skibidi Toilet Garry's Mod" games. The sender claimed these games, which generate significant revenue, infringed on their copyrights by using characters like Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, and Titan TV Man.
