While the global launch of Sonic Rumble is still on the horizon, set for May 8th, the excitement is already ramping up with a pre-release crossover event that's sure to delight fans. This isn't just any crossover; it's a celebration of Sega's iconic characters from past and present, making their way into the Sonic Rumble universe.
This unique crossover event, happening before the worldwide release, is currently accessible to those in regions where Sonic Rumble is in soft launch. From now until May 7th, players can claim the Werewolf character from the classic Altered Beast game completely free of charge.
For those who subscribe to the Sega Star Event Pass, there's even more to look forward to. You'll have the chance to unlock the Weredragon from Altered Beast, as well as Opa-Opa, the beloved first mascot from the arcade hit Fantasy Zone.
The fun doesn't stop there! Additional characters are up for grabs through in-game purchases. Head over to the Ring Shop to pick up Upa-Upa and the Werebear, while the Red Star Ring Shop offers characters from Super Monkey Ball, including AiAi and MeeMee.
It's certainly unusual to see such an event before a game's official release, but for those fortunate enough to participate in the soft launch, this is a golden opportunity to dive into the action with these legendary characters.
Sega has hinted that this is just the beginning, with a packed calendar of crossovers and collaborations planned for Sonic Rumble. So, keep your eyes peeled for more exciting updates!
