Devotees of the classic 1990s animated series Spider-Man: The Animated Series have eagerly awaited its return, especially following the successful debut of X-Men '97 in 2024. While Marvel currently prioritizes new seasons of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man over reviving this particular series, fans can still rejoice as the story continues in comic book form with Spider-Man '94.
Spider-Man '94 is a four-issue limited series that picks up directly from the show's notorious cliffhanger ending in 1998. The story brings Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson back to New York and introduces two legendary villains making their first appearance in this animated universe. The series boasts writing by veteran Spidey scribe (and original animated series contributor) J.M. DeMatteis, with artwork by Jim Towe (Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse) and covers from Nick Bradshaw, Ron Lim, and John Tyler Christopher.
