Fans of the web-slinging hero have much to look forward to, as Disney+ has announced the renewal of "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" for both Season 2 and Season 3. This animated series, which follows Peter Parker during his freshman year of high school, has yet to premiere its first season but is already making waves with its future plans.
In an exclusive interview with The Movie Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, shared exciting updates about the series' progress. Despite the first season's premiere scheduled for tomorrow, January 29, Winderbaum revealed that Season 2 scripts are already complete and half of its animated storyboards are finished. Furthermore, Season 3 has been greenlit, signaling strong confidence in the series' reception and future.
"I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics," Winderbaum expressed enthusiastically. He praised lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell for meticulously building the narrative. "What [Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. And you feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season, I feel it in my very soul and it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."

Winderbaum also mentioned an upcoming meeting with Trammell in a couple of weeks to discuss the pitch for Season 3, though he remained tight-lipped about the potential release dates for both Season 2 and Season 3.
"Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" chronicles Peter Parker's journey as he navigates his first year of high school and simultaneously discovers his superpowers. While it's unclear whether Season 2 will focus on his sophomore year and Season 3 on his junior year, or if the series will continue to explore his freshman adventures, one thing is certain: Marvel has big plans for this young Spider-Man.
