Shift Up, the developer behind the acclaimed action-adventure title Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port. Initially released as a PS5 exclusive due to its partnership with Sony, the game's impressive sales and overwhelmingly positive critical reception (an 82 average on OpenCritic from 124 reviews, including a top US sales spot in its launch month) have fueled speculation.
During a recent IPO press conference, as reported by GameMeca (via VGC), CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is under consideration, though the timing remains uncertain due to contractual obligations with Sony. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the growing PC market dominance for AAA titles, suggesting a PC release could significantly boost the IP's value. Shift Up is actively exploring this possibility.
This aligns with Shift Up's previous financial report, which mentioned exploring both a sequel and a PC port for Stellar Blade. Given Sony's increasing trend of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC (most recently, God of War: Ragnarok), a Stellar Blade PC port seems increasingly likely.
While the decision on a PC port is pending, Shift Up continues to refine the PS5 experience. Recent updates, however, have introduced some graphical glitches. The developer has acknowledged these issues and is actively working on a resolution.
