Stellar Mercenaries has just launched an exciting new upgrade with the Jupiter Expansion, nearly doubling the game's content. This update introduces more worlds, enemies, and missions, enhancing the vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter experience. In Stellar Mercenaries, players engage in procedurally generated missions, customize their ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.
What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The Jupiter Expansion transforms Jupiter and its moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into new battlegrounds, each presenting unique challenges. Ganymede is a barren wasteland, Io is covered in volcanic debris, and Europa is a frozen, treacherous landscape. Jupiter itself is full of storms, adding to the intensity of the gameplay.
Two new factions have been introduced: the Jovian Empire, a powerful military force aiming to control the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws. The expansion also adds 50 new missions with diverse objectives, including hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort missions, and train defense missions.
Players can now choose from six new ships: Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. The arsenal expands with new weapons such as the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
New Hazards, Shields, and More
The update introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, along with new hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have been upgraded, introducing new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk.
Additionally, the expansion enriches the game with 14 new music tracks and a new side missions system. Dive into the expanded universe of Stellar Mercenaries by checking it out on the Google Play Store—there's a wealth of new content waiting for you!
