Subnautica: Deep-Sea Survival Now on Mobile

Author : Thomas Update:Dec 30,2025

  • Subnautica delivers deep-sea survival on an alien planet directly to mobile devices
  • Immerse yourself in a rich storyline, survive the ocean depths, and even build your own submarine
  • Horror and wonder blend seamlessly in the mysterious underwater world

In the history of survival-crafting games, few titles stand as iconic as Subnautica. Even over a decade after its early access release, nothing else captures the essence of such an alien underwater environment. Now, you can carry that deep-sea adventure in your pocket—Subnautica is officially available for purchase on mobile!

After the deep-space colony ship Aurora crash-lands on Planet 4546B, you find yourself stranded and alone on a world almost entirely covered by water. Your only companions are a somewhat helpful AI and a futuristic fabricator, capable of producing anything you need to survive—provided you gather the necessary materials.

Your mission? Survival. The local wildlife ranges from harmless guppies to terrifying Leviathan-class predators lurking in the ocean's depths. To endure, you must craft tools, collect resources, and uncover blueprints—enabling you to build everything from survival knives and upgraded flippers to your very own submarine.

Subnautica includes the original survival mode alongside Freedom and Creative modes for a more relaxed experience. Content-wise, it's packed with diverse underwater biomes to explore, tools and vehicles to unlock, and a mysterious storyline that reveals 4546B might not be as uninhabited as it first appeared.

Subnautica comes highly recommended, though given its stunning underwater visuals, you may want to use a gaming phone for optimal performance. If you're looking for entertainment that can make even the longest flight feel short, this is hard to top.

If deep water isn't your thing—or if Subnautica sparks your appetite for more survival adventures (and seafood)—be sure to explore our list of the top 10+ best survival games on iOS and Android to test your wilderness skills.
