Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of Helldivers 2 (released a year ago), is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan input.

Community suggestions ranged from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and alluded to a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail shooter" genre.

While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's community engagement is evident. The studio's next title faces high expectations, given Helldivers 2's success as a standout game of 2024.

A recent update significantly boosted Helldivers 2's player count on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, surprise-released at the 2024 Game Awards, introduced the highly anticipated Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and urban warfare maps. With a rumored Killzone crossover also in the works, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
