Marvel Rivals SVP Meaning Explained

SVP in Marvel Rivals stands for Second Valuable Player. This accolade goes to the most outstanding player on the losing team. Don't confuse it with MVP (Most Valuable Player), awarded to the best player on the winning team.

How to Get SVP in Marvel Rivals

Earning SVP in Marvel Rivals depends on your character's role. Here's a general guide to excelling and increasing your chances of securing the SVP title, even in defeat:
RoleKey Performance Indicator
DuelistDeal the most damage on your team.
StrategistHeal the most HP on your team.
VanguardBlock the most damage on your team.

Essentially, focus on mastering your role. Strong performance usually translates to the SVP title, win or lose.

What Does SVP Do?

Currently, SVP in Marvel Rivals doesn't offer tangible rewards in quick play matches. It's purely a title recognizing the best player on the losing team.

However, there's a prevailing belief among players that achieving SVP in Competitive matches prevents the loss of ranked points. Normally, a Competitive loss results in a ranked point deduction, hindering your climb. Getting SVP, however, seems to preserve your ranked points, easing your progression.

That covers everything you need to know about the SVP title in Marvel Rivals. For more game tips and insights, check out The Escapist.
