Functionality Will Be Revealed During the Direct
With the Nintendo Direct just around the corner, excitement is reaching fever pitch. However, it seems Nintendo might have already given us a sneak peek of the Nintendo Switch 2 through their newly launched smartphone app, Nintendo Today. This app, designed to deliver the latest news and game information directly to players, has been closely scrutinized by fans. Notably, the app's promotional images on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store contain a clear reference to "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics and more every day."
A keen-eyed examination of these images reveals what appears to be the final design of the Nintendo Switch 2, including its newly styled Joycons and the much-discussed C button on the right Joycon. Initially, the January teaser for the Switch 2 showed a mysterious black square button beneath the Home button, sparking speculation about its purpose—ranging from a new social feature to a sensor. The images from the Nintendo Today app confirm that this button is indeed the C button, though its specific functionality remains a mystery, set to be unveiled during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
