Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, I'm moving on to new adventures. But before I go, let's celebrate with one last roundup of reviews, new releases, and sales.
Reviews & Mini-Views
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)
Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues with a collaboration featuring Hatsune Miku. This rhythm-boxing fitness game offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed content. While the core gameplay is solid, featuring difficulty options, free training, and cosmetic unlocks, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring. Best enjoyed as part of a broader fitness routine rather than as your sole workout.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Magical Delicacy ($24.99)
A charming blend of Metroidvania exploration and cooking/crafting. While the pixel art and music are delightful, and the Metroidvania elements are well-executed, inventory management and backtracking occasionally hinder the experience. The UI could also use some refinement. Despite its flaws, Magical Delicacy is a promising title that could benefit from future updates.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)
A polished sequel to the 16-bit classic. This Ratalaika Games release boasts improved presentation, including a wealth of extra features like box art scans, achievements, and a gallery. While the Super NES version is well-executed, the absence of the Genesis/Mega Drive version is a minor drawback. A solid offering for fans of retro platformers.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)
More of an expansion than a sequel to the original Metro Quester, this prequel takes players to Osaka. Featuring a new dungeon, characters, and challenges, it retains the satisfying turn-based combat and top-down exploration of its predecessor. A must-have for fans of the original, and a great entry point for newcomers.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
