How Diamondback Works in Marvel Snap
Diamondback is a 3-Cost, 3-Power card with the Ongoing ability: "Enemy cards here with negative Power get an additional -2 Power."
This creates numerous synergies, as Marvel Snap includes many cards that inflict negative Power—notably U.S. Agent and Man-Thing. Others include Scorpion, Hazmat, Cassandra Nova, Scream, Bullseye, and more. To effectively make her a 7-Power card, you'll want her Ongoing effect to hit at least two targets.
Be aware that Luke Cage completely negates her ability, rendering her useless. Enchantress and Rogue can also quickly neutralize this serpentine villain.
Best Diamondback Decks in Marvel Snap
While Diamondback may seem niche, she actually fits well into several competitive archetypes—including Scream Move, Toxic Ajax, High Evolutionary, and Bullseye Discard. She’s likely to see the most play in Toxic Ajax and High Evolutionary lists, which share similarities. Below, we explore two distinct decks to try her in: Scream Move and Toxic Ajax.
Kingpin Scream Kraven Sam Wilson Captain America Spider-Man Diamondback Rocket Raccoon and Groot Polaris Doom 2099 Aero Doctor Doom Magneto

This list includes several Series 5 cards: Scream, Sam Wilson Captain America, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and Doom 2099. Scream and Rocket Raccoon and Groot are essential, but if you don’t have Sam Wilson, consider swapping in another affliction card like Scorpion.
The main strategy involves repositioning your opponent’s cards while applying negative Power via Kingpin and Scream. Place Diamondback in Kingpin’s lane to secure it—cards moved there lose -4 Power, while Scream gains Power elsewhere.
This deck also runs a Doom 2099 package, since you typically play fewer cards in the final turns. Combining Aero with Doctor Doom or Magneto—plus Doombots and afflictions from moving cards—can quickly tip the scales.

Now let’s examine Diamondback’s more natural home, the Toxic Ajax deck:
Silver Sable Hazmat US Agent Luke Cage Rogue Diamondback Red Guardian Rocket Raccoon and Groot Malekith Anti-Venom Man-Thing Ajax
Click here to copy this list from Untapped.
This list contains many Series 5 cards: Silver Sable, U.S. Agent, Red Guardian, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Malekith, Anti-Venom, and Ajax. While Silver Sable can be replaced (e.g., with Nebula), the rest are nearly essential for optimal performance. It’s one of the game’s most expensive—but also most powerful—decks.
Your objective is to maximize Ajax’s Power using all available affliction cards. Sometimes, you may even skip Luke Cage to further boost Ajax. Malekith can pull Hazmat or Diamondback for sudden Power spikes, and Anti-Venom can deliver a surprising power surge on the final turns.
Rogue is included because Luke Cage is expected to be prevalent during Diamondback’s release week. Since this deck is vulnerable to him, having Rogue as a counter ensures its continued effectiveness.
Is Diamondback Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?
If you own most affliction-style cards for an Ajax list or frequently play Scream, Diamondback is a valuable addition. However, if you avoid affliction decks or lack key cards like Scream and Rocket Raccoon and Groot, she’s skippable—she truly shines only in these specialized, high-cost deck types.
