Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following successful releases earlier this year, including The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing title.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre bazaar shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unusual ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in the shantytown of a mining colony. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment—a character both unsettling and captivating.
Exploring the ramshackle colony, with its quirky tea shops and other oddities, leads you to Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop. The mystery surrounding Lila gradually unfolds as you shift between her perspective and the Master's.
Playing as Lila involves creating universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to generate visually stunning worlds. The Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting speculation about the overarching plot. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration.
