How to Get New Characters in Hyper Light Breaker
To unlock new characters, you'll need to collect Abyss Stones, which are exclusively dropped by the Crowns, the game's bosses. Before facing these bosses, you must first acquire Prisms, which serve as keys to the boss arenas. You can locate Prisms on the map by following the golden diamond icon.
After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost via the teleporter, and choose the Breaker you wish to unlock. Use your Abyss Stones to unlock the selected character, making them available for play. Currently, there are nine characters in the game, but only two can be unlocked using Abyss Stones. The method for unlocking the remaining characters is yet to be revealed.

Vermillion
Vermillion is your starting character, equipped with the Gunslinger SyCom, which enhances his ranged combat capabilities. His Rail shots have a unique feature: a critical hit guarantees the next shot will also be a crit.
For those who favor melee combat, Vermillion can switch to the Tank SyCom, which boosts armor upon perfect parries and offers better defensive and melee stats, making it a safer choice overall.
Lapis
Lapis begins with the Lightweaver SyCom, which increases Rail shot damage after picking up a Battery. Her standout feature is the Warrior SyCom, which incrementally boosts her core stats with each upgrade, transforming her into a formidable force over time.
Lapis excels with both SyComs, but the Warrior SyCom makes her a long-term powerhouse, outstripping other Breakers in raw stats as upgrades accumulate.
Goro
Goro is tailored for ranged combat, starting with the Astrologer SyCom, which accelerates his Blade skill charging while shooting. The unlockable Sniper SyCom further enhances his critical hit rate.
