Maximize Your Pokémon TCG Pocket Experience: A Booster Pack Guide
At launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers three booster packs from the Genetic Apex set: Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu. This guide prioritizes which packs to open first to optimize your card collection and deck building.
Which Booster Packs Should You Prioritize?
The Charizard pack is undoubtedly the best starting point. It offers not only the powerful Charizard Ex and key Fire-type Pokémon for a high-damage deck, but also Sabrina, the game's best Supporter card. Additional valuable cards like Starmie Ex, Kangaskhan, Greninja, Erika, and Blaine further enhance its value, providing crucial components for various deck types (Fire and Grass).
Booster Pack Priority Ranking:
Here's the recommended order for opening your booster packs:
- Charizard: Focus on acquiring versatile and essential cards that can be used across multiple decks.
- Mewtwo: Excellent for building a strong Psychic-type deck centered around Mewtwo Ex and the Gardevoir line.
- Pikachu: While currently a top meta deck, the Pikachu pack's cards are highly specialized. With the introduction of Promo Mankey, the Pikachu Ex deck's meta dominance may be short-lived.
While you'll eventually need to open all three packs to complete secret missions, starting with the Charizard pack ensures you secure crucial, versatile cards. Use any remaining Pack Points to target specific cards you need to complete your preferred deck.
