Warcraft Conventions Unveiled: Blizzard

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six fan conventions across the globe from February to May 2025. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers.

Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 in favor of alternative events like Gamescom and the inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour marks a significant shift in their engagement strategy. The tour celebrates key milestones within the Warcraft universe, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first year.

The tour kicks off in London on February 22nd and continues to Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, culminating in Boston during PAX East on May 10th.

Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:

  • February 22 – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15 – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3 – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)

While details remain scarce, the conventions are anticipated to focus on immersive experiences and fan interaction rather than major announcements. Expect live performances, unique activities, and developer meetups.

Importantly, attendance will be free but strictly limited. Blizzard has indicated that ticket acquisition information will be disseminated through regional Warcraft channels. Fans are encouraged to monitor their local Warcraft communities for updates on how to secure tickets to these exclusive events.

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. A traditional BlizzCon event, potentially in late summer or early autumn, might serve as a platform to showcase content from the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, including highly anticipated player housing features. However, Blizzard's 2024 hiatus suggests a potential shift towards a biannual convention schedule. Regardless, the Warcraft World Tour presents a unique opportunity for fans to celebrate the legacy of Warcraft.
