Following the thrilling conclusion of the 2024 Esports World Cup, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational (MWI) is set to make a triumphant return in Riyadh this July 2025. Last year's event was marked by an unforgettable upset when Smart Omega Empress dethroned the long-reigning champions, Team Vitality, ending their impressive three-year, 24-tournament winning streak in the Grand Final.
This year, the competition is set to be even more intense with 16 of the world's premier all-women MLBB teams vying for supremacy and a chance to claim a record-breaking prize pool. MWI 2025 will unfold from July 15th to 19th, starting with a double-elimination Group Stage where all 16 qualified teams will battle it out. The top eight teams will then advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket, competing for a share of the $550,000 prize pool, along with a $10,000 MVP bonus for the tournament's standout player.
The qualifiers for MWI 2025 are more inclusive than ever, attracting top talent from around the globe. Confirmed participants include DreamMax from the MWI 2025 LATAM Qualifiers, CFU Serendipity from Queen Legends Season 1, NAVI MY from the MYSG Qualifier, and Falcons Vega MENA from the Carry1st Africa Cup. Additional spots will be filled through ongoing regional events such as BOG Season 1, Athena League, and Lady MVP Season 6, with further qualifiers from China, North America, Mekong, Mongolia, and Türkiye concluding in the coming weeks.
MWI's return is a highlight of the broader Esports World Cup 2025, which unites top clubs across various titles in a unique cross-game competition format. As the defending champions, Smart Omega Empress will be back to defend their title, but with formidable competitors from across the globe, their reign is anything but assured.
