Cow in Mario Kart World Eats Burgers, Steak

If you're looking for a break from the usual news about tariffs and Nintendo Switch 2 pricing, here's a fun twist for your Friday: IGN attended a Nintendo event in New York this week to play Mario Kart World and discovered that the new Moo Moo Meadows Cow character can indeed indulge in burgers and steak, along with a variety of other foods.

For those unfamiliar with the latest developments, Mario Kart World recently introduced the Moo Moo Meadows Cow as a playable racer. This announcement has sparked a wave of excitement across the internet, leading to numerous memes and fanart dedicated to this previously minor character.

However, a curious detail from the Nintendo Direct 2 trailer caught fans' attention: Mario was seen eating a burger, which raised questions about whether Cow, potentially a source of beef, would also consume beef. This sparked a lively discussion among fans eager to understand the implications.

At the Nintendo preview event, it was revealed that food items featured in the trailer are available at Yoshi's diner locations throughout the game's courses. These diners operate like drive-thrus, where racers can grab take-out bags containing various food items such as burgers, steak kebabs, pizza, and donuts.

IGN confirmed that Cow can eat all these foods, including the controversial burger and steak. During the event, Cow was observed consuming these items without any visible transformation, unlike other characters who change costumes upon eating. This has led to speculation about whether Cow enjoys these foods for taste alone, or if there's a hidden power-up associated with them that Nintendo has yet to disclose. There's also the possibility that these might be veggie burgers or plant-based kebabs.

IGN reached out to Nintendo for clarification but has not received a response yet. While they might be preoccupied with the New York event, we're eager to see if they'll shed light on this intriguing aspect of Mario Kart World.
