Spotlight Hour: Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb Featured

Author : Peyton Update:Feb 22,2025

Get ready, Pokémon GO trainers! This Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, don't miss the Spotlight Hour featuring Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb! This double-feature event offers a fantastic opportunity to catch both Pokémon and potentially snag their shiny variants.

Prepare for a Catching Spree:

Because this Spotlight Hour features two Pokémon, stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense. Having ample supplies will maximize your chances of catching numerous Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb, increasing your odds of encountering shinies and completing evolutions. Also, ensure you have sufficient space in your Pokémon storage to avoid interruptions during the event.

Voltorb (Pokémon #100):

This Kanto region Electric-type Pokémon (#100 in the Pokédex) evolves into Electrode using 50 candies. Each catch yields 3 candies and 100 Stardust. Voltorb boasts a max CP of 1141, with 109 Attack and 111 Defense. Its optimal moveset is Spark and Discharge, delivering 5.81 DPS and 40.62 TDO, further boosted in rainy weather. Remember, Voltorb is weak against Ground-type attacks (160% damage) and resists Electric, Flying, and Steel-type attacks (63% damage). A blue shiny Voltorb awaits discovery.

Hisuian Voltorb (Pokémon #100):

Also #100 in the Pokédex, Hisuian Voltorb shares Voltorb's evolution line and reward structure (50 candies for Hisuian Electrode, 3 candies and 100 Stardust per catch). Statistically identical to Voltorb (1141 CP, 111 Defense, 109 Attack), this Electric-type Pokémon has different type matchups. It takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type moves (160% damage), while resisting Grass, Steel, and Water-type moves (63% damage) and other Electric-type moves (39% damage). Its best moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt, providing 5.39 DPS and 37.60 TDO, with weather boosts in partly cloudy and rainy conditions. Look for the shiny variant with its distinctive black body.

Make the most of this exciting Spotlight Hour! Happy hunting!
