PUBG 2025 Roadmap: What's Next for Mobile?

Author : Logan Update:Apr 19,2025

Today, Krafton unveiled an ambitious roadmap for PUBG in 2025, sparking curiosity about its implications for the mobile version. This roadmap, while specifically tailored for PUBG, includes updates that have already been integrated into PUBG Mobile, such as the new Rondo map. However, one particular aspect caught our attention: the mention of a "unified experience" across modes.

Currently, this unified experience refers to the various modes within PUBG. However, it's not a stretch to envision a broader unification that could eventually include PUBG Mobile. This might involve crossplay-compatible modes, bringing players from different platforms together in a more cohesive gaming environment.

The roadmap also emphasizes a stronger push towards UGC (user-generated content), similar to what we've seen with the World of Wonder mode on mobile. Krafton's plans include launching a PUBG UGC project that will allow players to share content, drawing parallels with successful models like Fortnite. This focus on UGC suggests a future where player creativity plays a central role in the PUBG ecosystem, potentially extending to the mobile version.

The possibility of merging the two versions of PUBG into a more integrated experience is intriguing, though currently speculative. The roadmap signals a significant leap forward for PUBG, and it's likely that PUBG Mobile will see similar advancements in 2025.

However, a major challenge lies in the planned transition to Unreal Engine 5. If PUBG adopts this new engine, PUBG Mobile would likely need to follow, which could complicate the development and integration process.
