Atelier Resleriana Shuts Down in Late March

Author : Evelyn Update:May 16,2025

Koei Tecmo has announced that Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator will cease operations within a year of its global launch. The end-of-service date is set for March 28th, with in-game purchases stopping on January 27th. Players can still enjoy the game through a series of planned events leading up to the shutdown.

The developers have admitted that they could not maintain the standards they initially set for the game. Despite their efforts to improve and introduce new events, they found it unfeasible to continue operations. While Lodestar Gems, essential for various in-game activities, can still be used until the service ends, they are no longer available for purchase.

For many fans of Atelier Resleriana, this news might not be unexpected. The gacha market is fiercely competitive, with numerous titles fighting for player attention. Although Atelier Resleriana introduced some innovative ideas, it faced significant challenges. The gacha and banner rates were frequently criticized, leading to dissatisfaction with the progression system. Additionally, the alchemy mechanics, a hallmark of the Atelier series, did not fully engage players as intended, missing the mark on the creative element that fans expected. The gameplay, while functional, was not compelling enough to stand out among other titles in the genre.

From the outset, Atelier Resleriana was up against significant challenges, and looking back, the signs of its struggle were evident. Social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit are buzzing with requests for an offline version of the game, but such a possibility seems unlikely. If you've enjoyed this turn-based RPG, make sure to savor the remaining time before the final curtain falls on March 28th.
