"Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrades for Games Like Breath of the Wild, Metroid Prime 4 Announced"

During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled that nearly the entire Nintendo Switch game catalog will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. Excitingly, select titles are receiving enhanced "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" versions, boasting unique features. This includes fan-favorites such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Mario Party: Jamboree.

Each Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game offers distinct upgrades. The showcase began with Super Mario Party: Jamboree, which introduces a feature called "Jamboree TV". This includes innovative mouse controls, audio recognition, "more expressive rumble", and gameplay utilizing a new camera accessory.

Following that, *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* are set to receive enhanced resolution, improved framerate, and HDR support. Additionally, these games will benefit from a new service on the Nintendo Switch Online app, "Zelda Notes", which offers voice guidance to locate Shrines and Koroks, and the ability to share creations in *Tears of the Kingdom* via QR codes with friends.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is slated for a new story exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, titled Star-Crossed World, along with upgraded graphics and framerates.

Two eagerly anticipated titles, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, are also getting enhanced versions. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will support mouse controls, boasting 4K resolution at 60fps with HDR, while Pokemon Legends: Z-A will feature improved resolution and framerates.

These upgraded editions will be available in both physical and digital formats. For owners of the original games on the Switch, upgrade packs will be available for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Party, and Kirby.

The buzz around "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" games started last week when a webpage hinted at these upgrades in a footnote about the new Virtual Game Card system, noting that such games cannot be transferred to the original Nintendo Switch via this method.
