CPU-Z is a powerful application designed to provide detailed information about your Android device. As the Android version of the renowned CPU identification tool originally developed for PCs, CPU-Z offers a comprehensive overview of your device's hardware for free. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or just curious about your device's capabilities, CPU-Z delivers in-depth insights into several key areas:
- SoC (System On Chip): Get specifics on the name, architecture, and clock speed for each core of your device's processor.
- System Information: Discover your device's brand, model, screen resolution, RAM, and storage capacity.
- Battery Information: Monitor the battery level, status, temperature, and capacity to keep tabs on your device's power health.
- Sensors: Learn about the various sensors integrated into your device.
To utilize CPU-Z, your device must be running Android 2.2 or a later version, and you'll need to be using version 1.03 or higher of the app. Keep in mind that CPU-Z requires certain permissions to function effectively:
- INTERNET: This permission is necessary for the online validation feature, which you can learn more about below.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: This is used for gathering statistics to enhance the app's performance.
Online Validation
Starting with version 1.04, CPU-Z offers an online validation feature. This allows you to store your device's hardware specifications in a database. After validation, the app will open a URL in your default web browser, providing you with a unique validation link. Optionally, you can enter your email address to receive a reminder with this link.
Settings and Debug
If CPU-Z encounters a bug and closes unexpectedly, the settings screen will appear the next time you launch the app. From here, you can disable certain detection features to help stabilize the application's performance.
Bug Report
Should you encounter any issues, you can easily report them by accessing the application menu and selecting "Send Debug Infos." This will allow you to send a detailed bug report via email.
