The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) brings the popular Primary & Prep school spelling Bee competition directly to children's fingertips. This app is proudly sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU).

The KCNK Little Bee Game works anywhere without an internet connection, featuring two learning modes and one competition mode. Each mode contains 10 progressively challenging levels with words growing longer as you advance. Every level includes 15 or more words to master, with the same word list appearing across all modes for consistency.

In the Settings section, students can enter their name, age, parish, and school information. They can choose between Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, or Competition Mode to begin their spelling journey.

Learning Mode 1:

Students learn to spell by tapping each letter in sequence from left to right. The KCNK Little Bee app pronounces each letter aloud, encouraging children to repeat along. If a mistake occurs, students can tap the incorrect letter to undo it. Tapping the little bee in the top-left corner replays the word audio. Students must correctly spell each word to advance and complete all words to finish the level. Any level can be replayed, though earlier levels must be completed before accessing later ones.

Learning Mode 2:

Students receive scrambled letters for each word and must arrange them to spell the announced word correctly. Mistakes can be corrected by tapping the wrong letter, while the top-left bee icon replays the word audio. Progress requires correct spelling of each word, with all words needed to complete the level. Levels can be replayed freely, though progression follows sequential completion.

Competition Mode:

Students face scrambled letters with additional distractors mixed in, challenging them to spell the called word correctly. Each word is timed, with times accumulating toward the level total. Ten random words are selected from the level's word pool. The goal is to complete each level as quickly as possible, with timing results displayed on the main leaderboard.

The game can be reset entirely from the Settings page. During gameplay, students should wait for each letter's audio to finish before selecting the next. Families are welcome to screenshot their leaderboard achievements to share with teachers.
