Longtime fans of Brave Frontier finally have a new challenge awaiting them. Brave Frontier Versus has officially launched worldwide on Android. This isn't a traditional turn-based RPG; instead, it offers faster-paced, more tactical combat.
Brave Frontier began as a mobile RPG, first launching in Japan in 2013. Developed by A-Lim, its global release was handled by Gumi before the original service ended in 2022. A sequel made exclusively for global audiences, Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner, arrived in 2018.
What is the gameplay like in Brave Frontier Versus?
Players build decks featuring familiar heroes from the original Brave Frontier universe. They then engage in battles on a strategic map where every decision matters. The experience is now closer to a digital card battler, demanding layered strategy and calculated risks.
Each match is confined to just five turns, and you won't face long waits for your opponent's actions. You can deploy several units on your very first turn. The system allows for up to six active units simultaneously, with cards reviving every round.
Deck-building is refreshingly straightforward. You only need character cards to form a team, making it highly accessible for newcomers. Alternatively, veterans can meticulously refine their decks to create powerful synergies for specific encounters.
Naturally, any Brave Frontier game would be incomplete without its signature Brave Bursts. These spectacular, game-altering special attacks can swiftly turn the tide of battle. They make a return as part of the new Manifestation Card system. Drawn on the third and fifth turns, these cards provide enhanced stats and powerful skills.
To celebrate the worldwide release, a Warm Welcome event is currently active. Logging in now grants a bonus of 2,000 gems immediately. Special missions offer additional rewards, and a limited-time shop features early deals. You can download the game now from the Google Play Store.
