The new MacBook Air is available in two sizes: 13-inch and 15-inch, catering to different preferences for portability and screen size. The 13-inch model is priced at $999, a $100 reduction from the last generation, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,199. The M4 chip significantly boosts the performance and efficiency of these laptops, featuring a standard configuration of a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. For those seeking more power, customization options include a 10-core GPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage.
In terms of design, a fresh color option, Sky Blue, joins the lineup, offering a subtle blue-tinted silver finish. Other available colors include Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), and Silver. Note that Space Gray is no longer an option. Each MacBook Air comes with a matching MagSafe charging cable.
The integrated webcam, now dubbed the "Center Stage camera" by Apple, has been upgraded to a 12-megapixel sensor, promising clearer video calls on FaceTime.
While not a mandatory upgrade from the previous MacBook Air, Apple claims the M4 model is twice as fast as the M1 version, making it a compelling choice for those still using older hardware.
