Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* have reason to celebrate as Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her beloved role as Cher Horowitz in an upcoming sequel series on Peacock. The streaming platform is currently developing the show, and while plot details remain under wraps, the excitement is palpable knowing that Silverstone will be back in her yellow and plaid.
This new series is a direct continuation of the story from the original movie, distinguishing it from Peacock's previously planned *Clueless* spin-off announced in 2020. Leading the creative charge are Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* series and its reboot. They are joined by Jordan Weiss in writing and executive producing the series. Additionally, Amy Heckerling, the visionary behind the original film as its writer and director, and Robert Lawrence, the film's producer, will also executive produce. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to bring this project to life.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has made the transition to television. From 1996 to 1999, a TV adaptation aired on ABC and UPN, featuring Rachel Blanchard in the role of Cher instead of Silverstone. Silverstone's recent return to her iconic role in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten hints at her eagerness to revisit Cher's world, much to the delight of fans everywhere.
