Attention all The Sims enthusiasts! The notorious Burglar is making a grand return in the latest update for The Sims 4. Whether you're a veteran player or new to the franchise, get ready to welcome back Robin Banks, who's set to sneak into your virtual homes on both PC and console.
Robin Banks, the iconic thief, prefers to strike under the cover of night, targeting homes when everyone's asleep. However, don't let your guard down completely—she's been known to attempt a heist even when Sims are awake. To protect your valuables, consider installing a burglar alarm. If Robin triggers it, the police will arrive promptly to apprehend her and recover your stolen goods. Even without an alarm, you can still call the police, but you'll need to act fast. Alternatively, if you're feeling brave, you could opt for vigilante justice.
While burglar events are relatively rare by default, those who crave chaos can activate the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc to increase their chances of a visit from Robin Banks.
"We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe," said The Sims' team. "Sending a special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses — she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households."
Despite being 10 years old, The Sims 4 continues to thrive. In fact, the series celebrated its 25th anniversary last year while attracting over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from last year, The Sims 4—then a premium game—took four years to reach 20 million unique players. However, following its transition to free-to-play in 2022, the game saw an incredible surge, gaining 31 million new players immediately and reaching a total of 85 million players by May 2024. And while fans eagerly await news of The Sims 5, there are currently no plans announced for its release.
