In a recent post on Twitter/X, Bethesda's official account announced an upcoming reveal scheduled for tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET, which will be live-streamed on both YouTube and Twitch. Though the announcement's specifics remain under wraps, the prominent "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion art strongly suggest what's coming.
Rumors about an Oblivion remake have been circulating for ages, with recent weeks seeing those rumors evolve into solid leaks. The first hint came from a 2020 Bethesda release schedule leak during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, indicating an Oblivion remaster was slated for fiscal year 2022. Despite the outdated document and missed window, the project seemed to remain alive. In January of this year, another leak emerged, describing the project as a full remake developed by Bethesda with assistance from Virtuos. Last week's leaks from Virtuos' website virtually confirmed these reports, showcasing images of the game in development.
If these latest leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. A Deluxe Edition is also expected, featuring the iconic horse armor alongside the standard release.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for what could be the official confirmation and further details on this highly anticipated remaster.
