Author : Matthew Update:Feb 20,2025

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! Let's dive into the most anticipated video game releases of the year.

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Kicking off the year on January 17th is Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the latest installment in Tecmo Koei's acclaimed musou series. This first full entry since 2018 will leverage current-gen power to deliver a visually stunning and action-packed experience. Prepare for massive battles on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

For those who prefer precision over overwhelming numbers, Sniper Elite: Resistance arrives on January 30th. This latest entry in the long-running series continues its tradition of long-range sniping and… well, let's just say it's not for the faint of heart. Expect more of the same satisfyingly brutal gameplay on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms.

Also launching on February 11th is Sid Meier's Civilization 7. This legendary strategy game needs little introduction. Lead your civilization through the ages, conquering, building, and innovating your way to global dominance. Available on virtually every platform except mobile (for now).

On February 14th, Assassin's Creed Shadows transports the franchise to feudal Japan. Play as both a ninja and a samurai in this exciting new chapter, available on current-gen consoles and PC.

For a different kind of Valentine's Day experience, there's Date Everything!, a quirky sandbox dating sim where you can romance a wide array of anthropomorphic objects. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
Obsidian's Avowed arrives on February 18th for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, this first-person RPG promises a thrilling action-packed adventure without the massive time commitment of some other open-world titles.

February 21st sees the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Goro Majima, a fan-favorite character, takes center stage in this pirate-themed adventure. Available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Finally, on February 28th, Monster Hunter Wilds aims to refine and expand upon the series' core gameplay, welcoming both veterans and newcomers. Expect a polished and enhanced experience on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
