Players embody Coen, a Dawnwalker—a being existing between human and vampire—in the fictional 14th-century European setting of Vale Sangora. Unlike typical protagonists, Coen is portrayed as emotionally complex and relatable. His journey begins with a race against time (30 days and nights) to save his family from the tyrannical vampire Brencis, who has plunged Vale Sangora into darkness. While the game features a time constraint, the developers emphasize a flexible gameplay pace.
