Boss battles, Mechagodzilla and Kong: details on the Fortnite and Monsterverse collaboration

The highly anticipated Godzilla skin, slated for release in Fortnite on January 17th, has had its details prematurely revealed thanks to recent online leaks. Epic Games preemptively deployed an update containing the January 17th content, allowing dataminers to uncover the specifics.

Beyond the standard Godzilla skin obtainable through the battle pass, players can acquire a bundle featuring Mechagodzilla and Kong from the in-game store. This bundle boasts unique jetpacks and pickaxes tailored to each skin.

A new boss event is also launching on January 17th. One player will transform into a colossal Godzilla, wielding abilities such as atomic breath. Players must collaborate to defeat this powerful foe. The player inflicting the most damage will be rewarded with a medallion granting a unique ability.

The Mechagodzilla and Kong bundle will be available at the usual time in the Fortnite store, priced as follows:

• Mechagodzilla: 1800 V-bucks
• Two pickaxes: 800 V-bucks each
• One emote: 400 V-bucks

Adding to Fortnite's roster of celebrity collaborations, the virtual singer Hatsune Miku appears to be next. Social media interactions between Hatsune Miku's official account and the Fortnite Festival account hint at her arrival. Miku's missing backpack was mentioned by her account, with the Fortnite account confirming its possession.

In addition to a standard Vocaloid skin and a virtual concert, a stylized pickaxe and a "Miku the Catgirl" skin variant are expected.
