After a decade of peaceful suburban life for the Sims, the unwelcome sound of breaking glass is back! The Sims 4 developers have announced a highly anticipated (though perhaps not universally welcomed) update: the return of burglars.
This update brings back the thrilling—or terrifying, depending on your perspective—possibility of home invasions. As in previous games, installing a security system is your first line of defense. A triggered alarm will summon the police to apprehend the intruder. For enhanced security, skilled Sims can upgrade the alarm system to improve its reliability and ensure automatic police dispatch. If your alarm system fails, you can still try calling the police directly, though a swift response isn't guaranteed. Alternatively, a more… diplomatic approach involves befriending the burglar.
For those with access to expansion packs, a more creative (and potentially more entertaining) range of solutions opens up. Unleash the fury of your loyal canine companion, summon the supernatural might of spellcasters, vampires, or werewolves, or even freeze the thief solid with a futuristic ray gun.
Best of all, this exciting update is available now—completely free!
