Is There Still a Chance for The Last of Us 3?

Fans of The Last of Us barely had time to process Neil Druckmann's recent comments suggesting a new game might not be on the horizon before a spark of hope ignited. Insider Daniel Richtman claims the next installment is not only in development but has already begun filming, with actors already cast for some scenes.

Considering Druckmann's previous ambiguous statement, the rumors might hold water. His comment about "no next The Last of Us" could have referred to a sequel already underway. Furthermore, he’s made similar pronouncements before the announcement of Part II. However, it's worth noting Richtman has a history of inaccurate leaks.

Nevertheless, the existence of at least a concept for a new Last of Us game is confirmed. As for an official announcement or further news, Naughty Dog might be strategically avoiding diverting attention from their upcoming new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
