Complete KCD2's Under the Straw Hat Side Quest Guide

Some quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* are only available once you reach Kuttenberg. Upon arriving, you gain the ability to travel between regions, opening up new areas to explore. One such quest you can undertake is the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Here's a detailed guide on how to complete it.

How To Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Before you can embark on "Under the Straw Hat," you must first initiate the "In Vino Veritas" side quest in Kuttenberg. Upon your arrival, head to the west side of the city where Casper Rudolf is offering free wine samples. Casper is looking to enhance his wine and needs your help to gather information.

You have two options to proceed: you can directly approach Havel, impressing him with your wine knowledge, or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and study it to gain more insight. If you choose to meet Havel directly, ensure you're dressed in fine attire and well-groomed. During your conversation with Havel, select the responses "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" to extract the information you need. Once you've learned this, return to Casper and share your findings.

Access the Vineyard

Next, Casper will task you with infiltrating a vineyard north of Kuttenberg to gather more details about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid wandering into the fields to prevent trespassing charges. Instead, follow the main road into the vineyard and speak with the recruiter, who will introduce you to the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue along the road, passing a guard as you enter the estate area, until you find Jerome sitting on a bench.

Inform Jerome that you've been instructed to report there. He will provide you with information about working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard begins the following day. After resting at an inn or your chosen lodging, return to the vineyard in the morning. To earn your pay, you'll need to move sacks to their designated spots and harvest plants like Thistle around the vines. Alternatively, you can skip these tasks and head straight for the secret incense.

The incense is located in the wine cellar, accessible from the main building where you met Jerome. Be cautious, as these areas are restricted even to workers, and getting caught will result in punishment. To enter the cellar, you'll need either a lockpick or to steal the keys from Jerome.

In the cellar, locate a chest and take all the Sulphur Wicks inside to complete the main objective. For an additional reward, you can also collect seedlings for Casper. From the main building's entrance, head straight across to find the seedlings. Remember, this is another trespassing area, so act quickly to gather five seedlings and exit.

If you've completed your work, report to Jerome at the end of the day to collect your pay. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and, if applicable, the seedlings.

By following these steps, you'll successfully complete both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. From here, you can explore other side quests like "Master Schindel’s Toys."
