Crunchyroll Expands Library with Roguelike Deckbuilder Shogun Showdown

Shogun Showdown, a captivating new roguelike combat deckbuilder, has found its place in the Crunchyroll Game Vault. Initially released in September 2024 for PC and consoles, this game has quickly risen to fame, thanks to its innovative approach to turn-based combat. Developed by Roboatino and brought to other platforms by Goblinz Studio and Gamera Games, Shogun Showdown offers a fresh and engaging gaming experience.

What’s the Gameplay Like in Crunchyroll: Shogun Showdown?

In Shogun Showdown, strategic thinking is key. The game unfolds on a single-lane battlefield where survival is your ultimate challenge. As a samurai on a quest to defeat a corrupt shogun who has unleashed chaos upon the world, you'll navigate through battles on a one-dimensional track ranging from 4 to 12 spaces. Here, every move counts. You can queue up to three actions or attacks at a time, making each decision critical. With procedurally generated runs, you'll encounter new enemies, obstacles, and layouts with every playthrough, keeping the game fresh and unpredictable.

The game's aesthetic is a beautifully crafted pixel art that captures the essence of feudal Japan. If you're curious about its visuals, take a moment to watch the official trailer below:
