Creature Commandos Season 2

Creature Commandos

Max has officially greenlit a second season of Creature Commandos, following its successful December 5th premiere and overwhelmingly positive critical response. Peter Safran and James Gunn expressed their excitement, citing the success of Peacemaker, The Penguin, and Creature Commandos itself as exceeding expectations. This unique DCU series, created by James Gunn, follows a ragtag military unit led by Rick Flag, comprised of supernatural beings – werewolves, vampires, mythological creatures, and a reanimated horror icon. It expertly blends action, horror, and dark humor. With an IMDb rating of 7.8 and a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score, the series explores themes of transformation, solidarity, and self-acceptance, all while delivering thrilling action and sharp wit. The stellar cast, including Indira Varma, Sean Gunn, Alan Tudyk, Zoë Chao, David Harbour, and Frank Grillo, brings the story to life.

Peacemaker Season 2

Peacemaker

Release Date: August 2025

John Cena, in a September 2024 interview with Variety, offered insights into Peacemaker Season 2's extended production. While remaining tight-lipped on specifics, he emphasized Gunn and Safran's commitment to quality over speed. The delay, Cena explained, reflects a deliberate focus on integrating the season seamlessly into the broader DCU narrative, ensuring a cohesive and impactful story. With filming underway, the season is progressing, though a precise release date remains unannounced.

Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost will explore the origins of Themyscira, the Amazonian homeland, before Wonder Woman. Peter Safran envisions a Game of Thrones-esque political drama within this all-female society, exploring both its glory and its shadows. While still in early development (script refinement is ongoing, according to James Gunn), its connection to Wonder Woman's mythology ensures its continued development within the DCU.

Booster Gold

Booster Gold

Booster Gold introduces Michael Jon Carter, a future athlete who travels back in time to become a manufactured hero. Assisted by his robotic companion, Skeets, he uses his knowledge of the future to gain an advantage. While details are scarce, James Gunn confirmed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that the script is still undergoing revisions to meet the studio's high standards before production begins.

Waller

Amanda Waller

Waller, starring Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, will follow the events of Peacemaker Season 2. James Gunn, via Deadline, explained that the scheduling reflects the prioritization of Superman. The series boasts a talented creative team, including Watchmen's Christal Henry and Doom Patrol's Jeremy Carver, and features returning members of the Peacemaker cast. Steve Agee confirmed the studio's commitment to a high-quality script before moving to production.

Lanterns

HBO's eight-episode Lanterns series, initially slated for Max, features a stellar cast including Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. The series, written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, and directed by James Hawes, will blend interstellar law enforcement with a terrestrial murder mystery. James Gunn highlighted its earthbound setting and its importance to the overall DCU narrative.

Dynamic Duo

Dynamic Duo

DC Studios and Swaybox Studios are collaborating on Dynamic Duo, an animated film focusing on the relationship between Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The film, utilizing innovative animation techniques, will explore their friendship and contrasting paths as Robin and Red Hood. Variety confirmed that the story will focus on their relationship, avoiding any retconning of their origins.
