Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently deactivated.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse presented reimagined versions of beloved characters in a compelling action RPG format. While initially met with enthusiasm, particularly among Disney fans, the extended beta period and inconsistent content updates ultimately led to player attrition.
The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-game spending to fully develop characters, further contributed to its decline. Despite this, the game's character designs and graphics were widely praised.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The timing of the EOS announcement is particularly surprising, coming just a week after the release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character. This abrupt closure echoes Kabam's past decisions, including the sudden shutdowns of Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
The unexpected nature of the Disney Mirrorverse EOS has left many players disappointed. What are your thoughts on the closure? Share your comments below. And be sure to check out our coverage of Zombies In Conflict Of Nations: World War 3 Season 15!
