Forza Horizon 5, Xbox's acclaimed racing title, is making its way to PlayStation!
Playground Games unexpectedly revealed that the latest Forza Horizon installment will be available on PS5 this spring. This follows the trend of Xbox exclusives arriving on PlayStation, mirroring the releases of Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version boasts identical content to its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions like Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.
This strategic move reflects Xbox's expanding interest in multi-platform releases, encompassing PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox head Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed support for the upcoming Switch 2.
Recent financial reports highlight a 30% decline in console sales, despite Indiana Jones and the Great Circle reaching 4 million players and a 2% increase in services revenue driven by a 30% growth in PC Game Pass subscribers. This financial picture might be influencing Xbox's focus on Game Pass and broader hardware compatibility.
