ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition, the free-to-play mobile spin-off of the popular ARK: Survival Evolved franchise, has achieved a remarkable milestone. Within just three weeks of its December 18, 2024 launch, it surpassed three million downloads on iOS and Android.
This success comes despite mixed initial reviews. The game's performance significantly outpaces the 2018 mobile port of ARK: Survival Evolved, boasting a 100% increase in downloads. This strong launch follows the successful 2022 Nintendo Switch port of ARK: Survival Evolved, also developed by Grove Street Games.
Currently, ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition holds a respectable position in app store rankings, occupying the 24th spot among iOS adventure games and 9th among top-grossing Android adventure games. While user reviews are mixed (3.9/5 on App Store, 3.6/5 on Play Store), the download numbers clearly indicate significant player interest.
Future plans for the game include the addition of new maps, such as Ragnarok, Extinction, and both Genesis parts, expanding the dinosaur-infested world for players. Further bolstering accessibility, the game is slated for release on the Epic Games Store in 2025. This expansion follows Studio Wildcard's recent roadmap update for ARK: Survival Ascended, and precedes anticipated news regarding the status of the much-anticipated ARK 2.
