Sucker Punch Productions will showcase a Ghost of Yōtei gameplay deep dive during a dedicated State of Play event next month.
A PlayStation Blog post published after today's June 2025 State of Play confirmed plans to reveal enhanced features in the much-anticipated samurai sequel. Though the Ghost of Tsushima follow-up appeared briefly at the presentation's conclusion, this served primarily as confirmation that Sucker Punch remains on track for its October launch.
While Ghost of Yōtei's fleeting appearance may have left fans wanting more, the confirmed July State of Play gameplay showcase promises to satisfy that hunger. Though an exact date remains unannounced, Sucker Punch confirmed this exclusive presentation will thoroughly examine the game's "refined gameplay systems, including exploration, combat mechanics, and additional features."
The studio officially revealed its Ghost of Tsushima sequel last September, introducing players to new protagonist Atsu's 1603 journey through feudal Japan. While details have been scarce since the 2020 original captured players' hearts, creative director Nate Fox maintains the sequel will uphold the same culturally authentic representation that defined its predecessor.
