Sony and the acclaimed game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the highly anticipated Dark Odyssey collection, an exciting update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update introduces a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, enhancing the gaming experience for players on both PlayStation 5 and PC.
The details of this update and other celebratory plans for the 20th anniversary of the God of War series were shared through a comprehensive PlayStation.Blog post. The Dark Odyssey collection is the centerpiece of this update, offering a free array of cosmetic enhancements for all God of War Ragnarök owners, scheduled to roll out on March 20.
The collection boasts a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic that promises to elevate the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology. Alongside Kratos, both Atreus and Freya will receive their own unique cosmetic sets. Additionally, the update includes various new appearances for the player's shields and weapons, ensuring a comprehensive refresh of the game's visual elements.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the new appearance and armor set for Kratos, inspired by a legendary skin from God of War 2 that was previously exclusive to those who conquered the game on God Mode difficulty. Players can access this coveted content from any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Moreover, the update will introduce the long-awaited feature allowing players to customize Kratos' weapons' appearances without affecting their abilities.
