Arrowhead Game Studios has released Helldivers 2 patch 01.000.403, primarily addressing a critical crash bug linked to the FAF-14 Spear weapon. This update also includes a broad range of bug fixes designed to improve overall gameplay stability and player experience.
Helldivers 2, a 2024 cooperative third-person shooter, has been lauded for its intense, chaotic gameplay. Arrowhead's commitment to regular updates continues, with each patch incorporating balance adjustments, new content (weapons, stratagems, enemies), and crucial technical improvements.
A previous update resolved a Spear aiming issue, but inadvertently introduced a new crash. Patch 01.000.403 rectifies this, alongside fixing a separate crash triggered by unique hellpod patterns during launch cutscenes. A significant addition is the global rollout of Japanese voice-overs for both PS5 and PC platforms, expanding language accessibility.
Further improvements address various minor issues: corrected text corruption (particularly affecting Traditional Chinese), resolved Plasma Punisher firing inconsistencies with certain shield generators, and adjusted Quasar cannon heat management to accurately reflect planetary conditions. Visual glitches, such as a purple Spore Spewer and pink question marks, have been eliminated. The fix for resetting available Operations after reconnection from inactivity is also included.
Despite these improvements, several issues remain under active development. These include unresolved problems with in-game friend requests, medal/super credit payout delays, invisible (but active) mines, inconsistent arc weapon behavior, weapon misalignment when aiming down sights, and a persistent reset of the Career tab mission count. Additionally, some weapon descriptions are outdated.
Patch 01.000.403 is now available, delivering a noticeable boost to gameplay stability and adding several quality-of-life improvements. Arrowhead continues to actively engage with player feedback and work towards resolving outstanding issues. The full patch notes detail all implemented fixes and known outstanding issues.
