Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced a significant leadership change, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous leadership structure. This follows a press release also announcing the promotion of Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will assume the role of CFO.
Last year, SIE leadership was split between Nishino and Hermen Hulst following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst retained his position as head of PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. Under the new structure, Nishino will lead all SIE operations and the platform business group, with Hulst continuing to lead PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In a statement, he expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences to expand the PlayStation community and its IP. He also thanked Hermen Hulst for his contributions.
