"Hollow Knight: Silksong Playable at Australian Museum in September 2025"

IGN has exciting news for fans of Hollow Knight: Silksong. The much-anticipated game will be playable at Australia’s national museum of screen culture, ACMI, in Melbourne, starting September 18, 2025. This opportunity comes as part of a larger video game exhibition called Game Worlds, which will also feature in-depth displays on the game’s design and artistic direction.

Team Cherry, the Adelaide-based studio behind Hollow Knight: Silksong, has been tight-lipped about the game's release date, offering only a broad 2025 window. However, with the game set to be playable at ACMI in September, fans are hopeful that a full release might come even sooner, possibly in August.

ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell expressed their enthusiasm, saying, “Since Hollow Knight: Silksong's initial announcement in 2019, it has been one of the most anticipated indie games on the planet – and we are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September. The anticipation for Hollow Knight: Silksong continues to build, especially after its brief appearance at Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct last month, where it confirmed the 2025 release window. The game, which will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox (and Game Pass), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, has been the subject of various intriguing teases over the years. Team Cherry started 2025 with a mysterious tease involving a chocolate cake recipe, sparking hopes among fans for a more concrete update in April.
